Traveling can be an incredibly enriching experience, offering numerous health benefits for both the body and the soul. If you're planning a trip, it's important to be a smart traveler in order to get the most out of your journey. Here are seven simple tips that everyone knows, but forgot when being a more conscious traveler:

  1. Plan ahead: Before your trip, research your destination thoroughly, including local customs if you travel outside the US, weather, and any safety concerns. Pack like you were in the military! (3 is two, 2 is one and 1 is none!!)

(especially if you are driving) Triple check you have enough medicine to last your trip, "recon" your local healthcare professionals in the area you plan to visit, such as a massage therapist or chiropractor, to help you stay in top shape while you're away. (Never a bad idea to practice how long it would take you to get to a local hospital)

  3. Respect local customs: Being respectful of local customs and traditions can help you blend in and avoid any misunderstandings. The best way to make friends is to be authentic and show humility when at all possible and don't forget to smile!!!

  4. Connect with locals: Making connections with locals can be one of the most rewarding aspects of travel. Learn more about their culture, traditions, and way of life. This can help you make new friends, share stories, and gain valuable insights into the places you visit. Try to remember that we are all God's children and we pray and connect to the divine in our own way. Never push religion onto someone, instead, be an active listener and value the presence of who is in front of you at the moment.

  5. Stay safe: Staying safe while traveling should always be a priority. Be sure to stay alert and aware of your surroundings, and avoid risky areas. Book tours, activities, and transportation with trusted local companies, ensuring your safety while you explore. (You probably already knew this, but praying and asking for divine protection right before you step outside, is always a smart choice)

  6. Immerse yourself in the experience: Immerse yourself in the local culture by trying new foods, exploring different activities, and embracing the local lifestyle. Remember to stay present and live in the moment if at all possible! (The conscious you today, will forever be grateful tomorrow!)

  7. Reflect on your journey: After your trip, take some time to reflect on your journey. Consider what you've learned, the experiences you've had, and the people you've met. More importantly, share your reflections with your friends and family and your overall network and inspire others to embark on their own transformative journeys.
